On Friday Evening February 7th 2019, Just after 9 PM the Centereach Fire Department was activated for a reported structure fire on Morning Drive.  Numerous reports from Suffolk Police Reported smoke visible and all occupants evacuating, 1st Assistant Chief Ben Vecchio advised of smoke and flames visible and requested a reactivation for a signal 13/35 and requested nearby Departments for a Mutual Aid.  Engine 5-5-2 was the first due Engine on Scene stretching an attack line to the front door.  Second due Engine 5-5-12 secured a water supply for Engine 2 and stretched an additional hose line off of Engine 2.  Ladder 5-5-5 provided a search team and laddered the building.  Additional crews from Engine 5-5-7, Engine 5-5-6 & Engine 5-5-9 provided additional manpower to the attack, search & ventilation teams.  The fire was quickly extinguished under deemed under control within 30 minutes.  Selden Fire Department responded for Mutual Aid.  At the same time as the structure fire Centereach Fire Department was providing EMS care on a patient in Cardiac Arrest at another location.
